BCG is adding their name to the mix of companies acknowledging the huge market potential in “women-focused products and services”.
Some investors have called women’s health a ‘niche’ market, and investors believe that there are “riches in niches”. However, the women who live with sub-par scientific knowledge about their bodies and healthcare gaslighting make up 51% of the population – we are not a niche!

BCG joins McKinsey, KPMG, and others to articulate what many others like WHO, ARPA-H, NIH, NAS, WHAM, SHRM and others have already – consumer / patient needs aren’t being met, and there is value to be generated and money to be made. This is a market ripe for innovation, disruption, and even aggregation. And hopefully, at the end of it all, better healthcare for women.
I’ll be writing more about this in 2025, but in brief – there is work to be done in scientific research (inclusion and proper analysis of female experiences), care delivery, bi-partisan policy and so much more … I’m excited to see what the future holds as innovators, investors, policy makers, and health care professionals lean in!
The summary of Key Findings is available on the BCG website.
