This policy explains what information nataliehanson.com collects, what I do with it, and who else handles it. It also covers an internal application that connects to my own Google account.
nataliehanson.com is operated by NDH Advisory LLC, an Illinois limited liability company. In this policy, “I” and “me” mean Natalie Hanson and NDH Advisory LLC.
1. What I collect when you visit the site
Contact form. When you send a message through the form on the Let’s Talk page, I receive your name, your email address and whatever you write. I use it to reply to you and nothing else.
Email follows. If you follow the blog by email, your email address is stored so new posts can be sent to you. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Comments. Commenting requires signing in to an account. Your comment, your display name and your avatar appear publicly with the comment. Comments are moderated before they appear.
Site statistics. The site records aggregate visit data — pages viewed, referring sites, approximate location, device and browser type — so I can see what people read. I use it in aggregate, not to identify individual visitors.
Server logs. Like any website, the host records technical data such as IP addresses and request times for security and reliability.
2. Who else handles that information
The site depends on a small number of service providers. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:
- WordPress.com (Automattic) hosts the site and runs the contact form, email follows, comments, site statistics and spam filtering. Comments and form submissions are checked for spam by Automattic’s spam service.
- Gravatar (Automattic) supplies commenter avatars based on email address.
- Google Analytics measures site traffic.
- Calendly handles scheduling if you book time through the link on the Let’s Talk page. That happens on Calendly’s site, under its policy.
I don’t sell your information, rent it, or share it for advertising.
3. Cookies
The site uses cookies for three things: keeping you signed in if you comment, remembering your comment details if you ask it to, and measuring traffic. Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies; the site still works without them, though commenting requires sign-in.
4. Links to other sites
Posts link to other websites, and the footer links to my LinkedIn and Substack. Those sites have their own privacy practices. This policy doesn’t cover them.
5. Google account data
I use an internal application that connects only to my own Google account. It reads and creates files in my own Google Drive so I can search my own material. That content is processed and stored by third-party service providers for this purpose only. It is not sold or shared for advertising, and no one else’s account or data is involved.
The application’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. How long I keep information
I keep contact-form messages as long as they’re useful for our correspondence. Email-follow addresses stay until you unsubscribe. Comments stay published unless you ask me to remove them. Site statistics are kept in aggregate.
7. Your choices
You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email hello at nataliehanson dot com, or use the form on the Let’s Talk page, and I’ll respond. You can unsubscribe from email follows at any time using the link in any email.
8. Children
This site is written for business professionals. It isn’t directed to children, and I don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
If my practices change, I’ll update this page and the effective date at the top.
