As I learn more about the opportunities and challenges in the field of women’s health, I find myself reflecting on things I would not have noticed in the past. This sign, for example:

I presume it refers to a department or departments focused on reproductive care. But isn’t making babies something that both women and men care about? Why is it relegated to the “women’s hospital”?
And at the same, these separations fail to include so many conditions (like Alzheimers and cardiovascular disease) that differently or disproportionately affect women. These biases run deep – including in hospital infrastructure like this one …
